A journey along the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs and through the Moroccan desert is a captivating adventure, filled with breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural experiences.
From Marrakech, the route winds through the majestic Atlas Mountains, past historic villages and kasbahs.
The scenery shifts from rolling hills to vast plains before reaching the Sahara.
A highlight of the trip is an overnight stay in a Berber camp, complete with
traditional stories and music. The journey concludes back in Marrakech, where you can explore the city’s rich history.

Day 1: Marrakech (Arrival)
You will be welcomed at the airport by your driver, who will transfer you to your riad in the Medina.
Depending on your arrival time,
you may have the opportunity for some initial sightseeing.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Skoura
After breakfast, your journey heads toward Ouarzazate along one of Morocco’s most scenic routes.
You will cross one of the two major Atlas passes – Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m).
The journey continues to Ouarzazate,
the “Gateway to the Desert.”
The city is known as Morocco’s “Hollywood,” as many international films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and others have been filmed here.
Kasbah Timnit, just before Skoura, with its overgrown garden, can only be admired from the outside. On rare occasions, and with some luck, its caretaker may invite visitors for a chat. Kasbah Amridil is open to the public and enchants with its finely crafted façades, impressive towers, and views over the palm grove.

Day 3: Skoura – Agdz – Zagora
Today, your journey continues to Zagora, with stops along the way in Agdz. The route
passes through picturesque landscapes, palm oases, and traditional Berber villages.
From Agdz, you proceed to Zagora, the largest town in the Draa Valley. A symbolic stop at
the famous “Timbuktu 52 Days” sign recalls the time when Zagora was an important stopover for caravans. From here, caravans transported salt, spices, and leather goods to sub-Saharan Africa and returned with gold, ivory, and slaves.

Day 4: Zagora – M’Hamid El Ghizlane – Erg Chegaga
By 4×4, you will travel along the ancient route once used by caravans from the Draa
Valley to Timbuktu. As you drive through the “Hammada du Draa,” take your time to
absorb the unique landscape. In M’Hamid, a picnic in the open air is possible. You will
cross the rocky desert and sand dunes until reaching Erg Chegaga, Morocco’s largest and least visited sand desert. Afterwards, enjoy a magical sunset from the top of a high dune on a dromedary ride.

Day 5: Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Ait Ben Haddou
You will travel along the Paris-Dakar Rally track to Lake Iriki. Once a vast lake, it is now a
completely dried-up salt plain, famous for its incredible mirages—your very own Fata Morgana awaits! From Foum Zguid, the journey continues along the N12 road,
surrounded by the vast rocky desert and its strikingly shaped mountain ranges. Finally, you will reach the village of Ait Ben Haddou, where visiting one of North Africa’s most
beautiful kasbahs is a must. With its reddish-brown clay walls, it is a stunning example of traditional Berber architecture and has served as the backdrop for numerous Hollywood films.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Today, you will travel back to Marrakech. Along the way, you can enjoy once more the
